applications and references

VYOO has been applied and verified in collaboration with leading international experts through investigator-initiated studies and a growing list of European centers are using VYOO as a routine clinical test.

Sepsis Diagnostics

Whole blood samples

Application Study: VYOO vs. Gold Standard Blood Culture

The purpose of this study, performed during product development, was to determine whether a molecular diagnostic approach using VYOO could offer a faster, more sensitive solution for detection of bacterial and fungal infections and antibiotic resistance as compared to conventional ‘gold standard' blood culture techniques.

Septic Arthritis

Synovial fluid samples

Septic arthritis is a critical condition causing high morbidity and mortality. It is induced by microbial infections which are likely to occur in case of joint diseases and joint replacements.

Reference Center and sender laboratory for joint infection testing:

MPT molecular pathology Trier »

Application Study: VYOO detects joint infections

The focus of this study is to verify whether the multiplex PCR test VYOO is suitable and sensitive enough to reliably detect infections of the synovial fluid and deliver clinically meaningful data.

Cirrhosis of the liver

Ascitic fluid samples

Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a life-threatening complication of patients with ascites and cirrhosis of the liver. Bacterial infections of the ascitic fluid can be identified with VYOO as the study shows.

Application Study: VYOO detects infections in ascites

The focus of this study is to verify whether VYOO is suitable, fast, and sensitive enough to reliably detect bacterial infections of the ascitic fl uid and deliver clinically meaningful data.

VYOO is approved for diagnostic and research use within Europe. VYOO provides solely qualitative diagnostic information. The relevance of this information to diagnosis of infection and the selection of a directed anti-infective therapy must be evaluated by a clinician together with other clinical and diagnostic findings. VYOO is for research use only in USA.
