SIRS-Lab donates Hugo Schottmüller Award for Sepsis Research

PD Dr. Peter Rosenberger received the „Hugo Schottmüller Award“, granted by the German Sepsis Society. The Hugo Schottmüller Award values excellent achievements in basic research about sepsis, also known as blood-poisoning. SIRS-Lab donated the price in the course of the international sepsis conference in Weimar, Germany.Peter Rosenberger from the University Hospital Tübingen published about mucosal inflammations which are a common trigger for sepsis. Hugo Schottmüller was the first to define the Sepsis as clinical disease in 1914.

The German Sepsis Society, has the goal to improve research and therapy of sepsis and further strives to raise public attention for this highly underrated disease.
